master course

about this course

This course combines an extensive online learning package with the latest insights into vascular filler complications with a hands–on skills training on silicon mannequin heads. Participants will be able to access this on our digital learning platform.

  • extensive online study materials, including an online exam
  • ultrasound guided hyaluronidaze injections

course level: entry - advanced

This course is intended for both entry level physicians as well as physicians with significant experience in aesthetic injectable procedures.

theoretical training

The online theoretical part covers the latest insights and best practises on how to prevent and manage arterial embolisation of the peripheral circulation as well as the retinal circulation. Participants have access to a set of discourses presented by Jani van Loghem and Philippe Snozzi that will cover the following topics:

01  avoiding and minimizing complications

Safety is a cornerstone of any cosmetic injection ability. Learn what’s needed to avoid and minimize complications.

02  HA, CaHA and PLLA complication management

A deep dive into the complexity of specific complication management for HA, CaHA and PLLA treatments.

03  non-resorbable filler complication management

Non-resorbable filler complications still occur, the key to resolving these complications is adequate knowledge and skills.

04  ultrasound imaging in complication management

Vascular occlusions can be located using an ultrasound device. Learn how to use ultrasound to detect occlusions and guide Hyaluronidase injections to resolve them.

05  inflammatory and non-inflammatory nodules

Focal accumulations as well as immune related responses to fillers will be discussed and the latest protocols for management will be practiced.

06  permanent filler granulomas

As permanent fillers can be present in our patients indefinitely, we have to know how to deal with their complications even if we don't inject them.

07  infections

Various types of infections may occur after soft tissue filler injections. Knowing how to deal with them is mandatory for any injector.

08  allergic reactions

Different types of allergic reactions can occur. Some even requiring immediate intervention like anaphylactic shock.
Our Filler Complication Management Algorithms Quick Reference Guide serves as the theoretical basis of this Master Course. A hard copy of the book will be provided to you at the start of the training. An online certificate will be available to those interested in a certification that can be used for accreditation points.

personalized hands-on  training

During the practical hands-on training, several acute situations after filler injections as well as late reactions after both hyaluronic acid and non-HA fillers will be practiced in small break-out groups. Each delegate will be leading at least one case of acute ischemia (central or retinal). An ultrasound device will be available on a dedicated station for practicing ultrasound guided hyaluronidase injections.
