course overview

theoretical content

The theoretical training is delivered through our digital platform under the section Online Learning Materials and it covers the latest insights and best practises on how to prevent and manage arterial embolisation of the peripheral circulation as well as the retinal circulation.
The ebook ‘Filler Complications Management Algorithms - Pocket Guide’ is available within the online learning material, alongside detailed instruction videos. Participants who wish to test their knowledge can take an optional online multiple-choice examination. The online learning material also includes discourses by Dr. Jani van Loghem and Dr. Philippe Snozzi, covering the following topics:

01  avoiding and minimizing complications

Safety is a cornerstone of any cosmetic injection ability. Learn what’s needed to avoid and minimize complications.

02  HA, CaHA and PLLA complication management

A deep dive into the complexity of specific complication management for HA, CaHA and PLLA treatments.

03  non-resorbable filler complication management

Non-resorbable filler complications still occur, the key to resolving these complications is adequate knowledge and skills.

04  ultrasound imaging in complication management

Vascular occlusions can be located using an ultrasound device. Learn how to use ultrasound to detect occlusions and guide Hyaluronidase injections to resolve them.

05  inflammatory and non-inflammatory nodules

Focal accumulations as well as immune related responses to fillers will be discussed and the latest protocols for management will be practiced.

06  permanent filler granulomas

As permanent fillers can be present in our patients indefinitely, we have to know how to deal with their complications even if we don't inject them.

07  infections

Various types of infections may occur after soft tissue filler injections. Knowing how to deal with them is mandatory for any injector.

08  allergic reactions

Different types of allergic reactions can occur. Some even requiring immediate intervention like anaphylactic shock.
