about the uma training events
where do the training events take place?
Most of our training events take place in The Netherlands, in Amsterdam or Utrecht. We also organise training events abroad. The location of each event is always listed on the product page.
do you have a waiting list for fully booked events?
Yes, occasionally a spot opens up on our fully booked events. If you wish to be added to the waiting list, please contact us. We also recommend you subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media to stay up to date, so you can quickly book your seat when new dates are added.
do I need a medical license to attend UMA Academy training events?
Yes. All our training events which include injection require a valid medical license. This applies to all of our Master Courses and hands-on training events. Our 'theory only' events, such as live demonstrations and symposia, are open to all and don't require a medical license.
We also offer different levels of training, to match your experience level:
Essentials
Advanced & Expert
do you offer custom training events?
Yes, we frequently organise exclusive training events. They can be organised for groups, or as private and individual sessions. These are completely tailor-made and adjusted to your wishes. For more information please contact our academy coordinator Lisette at academy@uma-institute.com or fill in the contact form below.
what is your return policy?
do you provide an invitation letter for a visa application?
Yes. We are happy to provide an official invitation letter to support a Schengen visa application. Register for the course first, and we will send the letter once your place is confirmed. Visa applications can take several weeks, so we recommend registering as early as possible.
which parts are online and which are in person?
The theory is online, so you can work through it at your own pace before the training. The hands-on training is in person at our Master Courses, which run for one or two days.
what happens during the hands-on training?
Our courses cover the full treatment process: anatomy, product knowledge, patient assessment, treatment planning, injection techniques and complication management.
The practical sessions are always supervised. You treat real patients in small groups, with a maximum of five delegates per faculty member, and receive personal feedback on your technique throughout the day.
what certificate do I receive, and is it accredited?
On completion you receive a certificate from UMA Academy. Our training is delivered by an international faculty and is well recognised in the field. All of our content is CME accredited, so your training counts towards your continuing medical education requirements. Whether a qualification permits you to perform treatments in your own country is a separate matter and depends on local regulations, so we recommend checking with your national health authority.
I have completed basic training but have had little chance to practise. Which course should I take?
We would suggest starting with Toxin Essentials and the Facial Filler Introduction course. The material may be familiar, but it is a good opportunity to build hands-on experience and refresh what you already know. From there, Advanced Toxin Techniques builds directly on Toxin Essentials.
do your Face & Body courses include body treatments?
Yes. All our Face & Body trainings include a round of body indications.
how should I prepare for my course?
If you are booked on a Master Course, start with the online learning material included with your course. It is a good introduction to what we cover on the day, so you can make the most of your time with us on site.
If you are booked on a workshop, online learning material is not included. Many delegates choose to add a membership to our online platform so they can prepare beforehand and keep access to the material afterwards.
In both cases, we will send you the programme for the day and all the practical details closer to the date.
do I need to bring scrubs?
No. Scrubs are provided and included in the course fee. Let us know your size and we will have them ready for you.
about the uma books
can I order books in bulk?
Yes, please contact us if you wish to purchase 10 or more items of the same book.
